Though it seems senseless to leave thousands of dollars worth of gear unprotected on the decks of boats or on vehicle racks, it happens sometimes, simply because of a lack of a method of safekeeping. Lockdown Co. has come up with a simple and easy solution for locking wakeboards, surfboards, skis and other gear to vehicle racks and boat decks; simply tie them down with Steelcore tie-down straps, a new all-in-one security device. These security straps combine steel and 1-inch-wide webbing material to make the tie-down strap cut-resistant, protecting your gear from theft. This feature, along with special key-locking cam buckles on the straps and a bungee cord/lock, make the system formidable. The weather-resistant straps can be operated single-handedly, making them a quick and easy way to secure your gear. When not in use, they roll up into small coils and can be easily stowed away into packs. Steelcore tie-downs are sold in pairs, and come in different sizes. Prices range from $85 to $265.
