First Impressions

The Princecraft Versailles 20 is a full-featured pontoon boat that comes in at a decent price point ($30,274 base price). Highlights include the huge helm chair, nicesized lounges on both sides up front (both are 21 inches by 53 inches), big L-shaped lounge aft (51 inches long), and a cushion (28 inches by 30 inches) over the changing area that pops up.
There’s a lot of nice open space behind the helm seat too. Creature comforts include an 11-inch-by-16-inch sink, 203-watt Clarion AM/FM/CD player with MP3 plug, four waterproof speakers, and a 12-volt helm receptacle.
The boat is generally welldesigned and comfortable, though it has some performance issues during the Boating World test (it begins to porpoise around 37 mph with the 150-hp Mercury Verado outboard and has a tendency to list to the left).
The 11 outboard options on the Versailles 20 range from a 25-hp 4-stroke to the 135- and 150-hp Verado 4-stroke as well as the 135- and 150-hp OptiMax. Once you get up to 135 horses, the boat is built with the triple-pontoon Performance Package. Boating World clocks a top end of 39 mph, and a 0-to-25-mph speed of 6.1 seconds.
