Azure 250 OB Sport Deck
by Randy Scott
A
zure has taken its existing sterndrive-powered 260 deck boat and retooled it for outboard
power to create the new 2008 250 OB Sport Deck. At 25 feet in length, it’s the largest outboard
model in the growing Azure fleet. Rated for up to 300 hp, this boat features Azure’s patented
SureTrac hull design, with its uncharacteristically deep 20-degree aft deadrise for outstanding
rough-water capability and comfort of ride. Additionally, it’s backed with a limited-lifetime
structural warranty.
Tested with a 250-hp Yamaha, the boat offers better-than-average forward visibility when
coming on plane, and it proves to be maneuverable even in the tightest of turns. Be sure to opt for
power-assisted steering, however, because it’s a bit of a workout otherwise.
Azure strategically positions the helm amidships to provide a balanced ride while offering a
spacious open bow for extra passenger comfort, further enhanced by retractable armrests and canted
backrests. Twin buckets and an L-lounge accommodate passengers in the cockpit, while a
three-position sunpad with an adjustable backrest permits passengers to face forward, aft or lay
flat. Standard convenience features include an enclosed head, wet bar with sink, walkthrough
transom, and bow with fore and aft ladders for easy boarding. An automobile-like steering wheel,
complete with mounted buttons to control the radio, is available for the JBL audio system.
