What it does: Powered by propane instead of gasoline, the Lehr outboard expels zero evaporative emissions and doesn’t need winterization. Place a 16.4-ounce camping bottle directly in the engine slot, or power the engine with a 5-gallon barbecue tank or a larger propane tank via a hose.

Why it won: “I’d love to put this on the tender to my diesel-powered sailboat and never think about gas again,” said judge Mark Corke.
