Boat Owners Aren't Abandoning Ships

A shortage of late-model used boats has sent prices higher and dealerships seeking trade-ins to augment their inventory of new boats.

In some cases, people are paying roughly 25% above the suggested retail price for a used boat that's only a few years old and is in very good shape, according to dealerships, and sellers are getting up to 50% more from selling a boat on their own compared with accepting the trade-in value.
