Prospec Makes Donation to Help Out Veterans
Posted: March 26, 2013 | By: ProspecSpending time on the Chesapeake Bay, caring for boats, and enjoying the sunshine can be the best therapy for anyone, especially down on their luck military veterans. To help in this mission, Prospec Electronics donated a pair of 6.5-inch Infinity (INF612BC) speakers to Aid Our Veterans, an organization that helps out of work and homeless vets.
Aid Our Vets' Annapolis, Maryland chapter features a boating program that teaches valuable skills in boat repair, marine engine maintenance and even boating safety education. The skills learned there could lead to a career in the marine industry or a new way to enjoy life.
In 2012, the Annapolis Chapter received a 36-foot Trojan Tricabin Motor Yacht, donated by Joseph Carpenter, the first African American Colonel in the Marine Corps. "This boat is a project and fishing boat, and is a way for veterans to spend a day on the water, catch fish, learn about seamanship, enjoy themselves and the company of their fellow service members," said Jerry Mertz of Aid Our Veterans Annapolis, Md., chapter. "It has already been used for temporary housing for wounded warriors and homeless veterans."
"We received a surround sound stereo system, but no outdoor speakers," said Mertz. "The Prospec speakers will be used on the bridge so that veterans can enjoy fine music. They are a much needed addition to our fleet."
With 225 watts of handling power, Prospec's Infinity (INF612BC) speakers have a 50-20,000 Hz frequency response and a sensitivity of 92 dB. They feature a sealed motor and sealed polypropylene cone for better protection against the elements, as well as superb sound quality.
Aid Our Veterans operates with a mission to help homeless and out of work veterans by supplying beds, shelters and homes for those vets in America who have fallen on hard times. It provides assistance to men and women who have served so bravely for our country, but now find themselves out of work and/or homeless. There are currently four chapters throughout the United States.
