Here’s a neat trick: Sun Tracker upgraded almost every element of the number one selling pontoon boat in America, yet managed to keep the price as budgetfriendly as ever. The new line of Regency Edition Party Barges features upscale touches, but none more readily noticeable than the overstuffed lounge seats that rise above the stylish new 2-inch bowrail that curves downward toward the bow to create a more dramatic sheerline.

Although this Sun Tracker is 24 feet and change from end-to-end, there are plenty of big ‘toon features like the roomy sunpad in the stern that has a changing room complete with jump seat. A movable, extra-large triangular bow or stern table features a nonskid surface just like in the compact storage alcoves at the helm. Triple chaise lounge couches give your passengers plenty of comfortable room and they will enjoy the support of the high-density Comfort- Foam underneath. All three boarding gates open inward for security, but could use a latch or other device to keep them open while you are loading the boat or boarding passengers.

Maybe the most surprising element of the 22 Party Barge is the exceptional performance it gets with only two tubes when powered by the midsized Mercury 135 hp OptiMax outboard. But these aren’t ordinary tubes. They feature standard NV Performance Logs with lifting strakes that help you get on plane quickly. This is a pontoon that has virtually no bowrise to tell you you’re on plane. We reached 30 mph in just 7.5 seconds and achieved a top speed of 41.2 mph – fast for the modest power and only two tubes.

Every pontoon with more than 90 hp gets standard hydraulic steering so the driver can save arm strength for skiing. An elevated helm station gives you better visibility and has a premium, adjustable captain’s chair for comfort along with burlwood styling accents that match the rest of the boat.
