Wow! That sound pretty good. Just need to go out and catch some more fish. After taking care of the relatives, friends and all, We're out for now. Won't give away my Halibut and bottom dewellers though. Hope to get into them again soon locally. My wife been smoking them and they seems to disappear really fast. Thanks again.

I had to put this to the masses. Uploaded some videos (a little over 2 min each) of our day at the Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup. Part 1 is a slideshow, Part 2 is some video. Any guesses as to what the mystery bone is from Part 2? Some guesses include; whale bone vertebrae, old antler of a trophy (had what appeared to be silicone at base, could be cartilidge but I think it would have been stripped away with the rest of the soft tissue but who knows), and one guy guessed a divining rod from Gilligan’s Island

@ grid: The trim motor continues to run at the end of the travel, but changes to a low growling sound. The dry pivot sounds possible; I read somewhere that after-market grease can cake up in the tilt tube. (BTW, I had the tilt tube replaced last year when the steering arm froze inside it.) I'll try flushing with fresh grease and let you know the results.
About the steering problem: how does this affect the tilt?
If it's a sticking shuttle, it'll have to wait until the end of the season and the boat is out of the water.
Thanks for the tips.

Hi BoatMaxX and welcome to the forum.
The vast majority of these went out with MerCruiser Chevy 350s that put out 260 hp apiece. Occasionally I've seen them with twin 454s, but frankly I'd rather have this boat with the 350s ...more reliable. Pop the hood and find out. The outside looks to be be in excellent shape but with the seized vehicle auctions you can never tell. Buyer beware. The Blue Book says about $6K but most that I've seen that are good shape were more like $10K. This is a good riding boat that I think had a 24-degree continuous deadrise, which makes it a little slow out of the hole but it will slice the waves at speed like a machete.

People have had problems with those pieces restricting water flow and causing overheating.
Pull off all the hoses and make sure there are no pieces in the hoses.
Also, pull out the thermostat and remove any pieces stuck in the thermostat housing.

Last thing....should I be worried about any pieces of the old impeller flowing through any of the pipes? The old impeller I pulled out was completely mangled...
If so, any pointers to clean out the pipes or any crevices that chunks of the impeller may be in?
