Ron Leonardi: Lettie G. Howard Ready for Day Sails

The schooner, built in 1893 in Essex, Massachusetts, arrived in Erie on June 3 following a monthlong, 2,000-mile shakedown sail.

On Friday at 2 p.m., the first Erie-region passengers are scheduled to step aboard the twin-masted tall ship Lettie G. Howard and launch a summer season of public day sails, sunset sails and private sails on Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie.
