Why this 70-ton Second World War Ship Made its Way Across Teesside’s Roads

A 70-tonne World World Two ship was transported through the streets of Teesside ahead of her extensive restoration.

The RML 497 has been moved to Hartlepool from Southampton in anticipation of a conservation programme to get her on permanent display telling the rich naval story of the coastal forces in the North Sea.
