More than 4,000 boats and 35,000 people converged at this year’s AquaPalooza signature event July 24-26 at Lake Martin near Alexander City, Ala. This year’s event was the largest in its four-year history, with an increase of more than 50 percent over last year’s attendance.
Alan Jackson headlined the event, which was held under perfect weather and organized by Sea Ray and Russell Marine. The largest crowd gathered in front of the waterfront main stage, where a “water pit” attracted fans on water noodles and inflatables paddling to a better spot. On the lake, the sea of boats measured more than 1 mile from stem to stern.
Here are some snapshots of the annual “flotilla maximus.”
