At over 2,000 miles the Mississippi River is a little longer than most Cambridge Blues are used to, but his time rowing the Cam proved ideal preparation for John Pritchard’s million-dollar challenge.
The former Robinson College student, who represented Cambridge in three victorious Boat Races in the 1980s, successfully made it some 2,340 miles through 10 US states in a wooden Victorian boat.
The Olympic silver medallist took on the challenge to raise $1 million for global educational charity Right To Play, after he was inspired by a visit to a Ghanaian school for children with learning and physical disabilities.
