“I am thrilled to be part of The Sea Tow Foundation’s North American Sober Skipper Advisory Council,” says Keith Lake, MarineMax Delivery Captain. “This is a great fit for me while providing an opportunity for MarineMax to continue being a leader in promoting boating safety.”
The Sea Tow Foundation appointed its inaugural class of North American Sober Skipper Advisory Council members, full of industry stakeholders and leaders. The first quarterly teleconference will be held the week of April 29th, where the group will collaborate on current and future boating safety messages and initiatives.
“Our primary goal in organizing and launching the Sober Skipper Advisory Council is to engage the industry from multiple touchpoints in order to both maximize the messaging impact and extend our campaign reach. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the number of boating accidents and deaths on our waterways,” says Sea Tow Foundation Executive Director Gail R. Kulp.
Captain Keith Lake works at MarineMax Clearwater where he spends his time orientating new owners to their vessel, including all safety gear. He is also the instructor for several boating classes, including MarineMax’s Women on Water and Intro To Boating classes held several times per year. Lake has also been the star of approximately 40 Boating Tips Episodes on the MarineMax YouTube Channel.
