Newest U.S. Navy Ship to be Commissioned at Port Everglades

When the U.S. Navy’s newest ship is commissioned in July, it will be the sixth time Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades has hosted such a ceremony.

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, USS Paul Ignatius, will be put into active duty July 27, said Glenn Wiltshire, Port Everglades acting-Chief Executive and Port Director.
