San Francisco

San Francisco is known for many different things and people from all over visit the city to see what it has to offer. One thing is for sure – it does not disappoint and is a great destination for boaters as well.

The city is known for its nice winds and calm seas, which make it an excellent place for all types of boaters including those on sailboats. The area can be visited all year round, which makes it an ideal choice for vacation.

Throughout the summer, boaters can enjoy fishing and water sports throughout the day.

Lake Champlain

Lake Champlain borders both New York and Vermont and is a whopping 125 miles long making it an excellent destination for boaters who want beauty to look around at. There are a total of 80 different islands to enjoy over the 125 miles of waterway.

Boaters visiting this area can enjoy water sports, cruising, and fishing. The biggest downside is that boating season is only a few months long, but definitely worth it.

Chesapeake Bay

Chesapeake Bay is considered one of the largest estuaries in the US and spans about 200 miles in length and can run anywhere from 3 to 30 miles in width.

This location is one of the most popular because visitors here can see multiple cities including Baltimore, Annapolis, and St. Michaels all from the deck of their boat.

One of the most popular activities for boaters is fishing for rockfish.

San Juan Islands

If you are looking for a unique and relaxing area to check out, you definitely want to visit the San Juan Islands. Here, you will find a nice mix of orca whales and pine forests to look at. Some of the most popular areas to visit here include the Haro Straight, Friday Islands, and the Roche Islands.
