An Underwater ‘Ghost Fleet’ of Shipwrecks Is on the Move, and Here’s Why

The sunken ships of Mallows Bay, located in the Potomac River in Maryland, are a reminder of the U.S.’s maritime past. Spanning from the Revolutionary War to World War II, the bay is home to nearly 200 military shipwrecks that were intentionally sunk over the years.
