The 2025 Sea Ray SDX 270 is nothing short of comfortable. It screams family friendly with a hint of ready to go have some fun.
For this walkthrough, we will start at the transom and make our way up to the bow.
Transom
Unlike some other boats in the same class, the SDX 270 has plenty of transom space that allows you to move around freely without having to worry about balancing or falling. There is a built-in ladder that is hidden into the transom deck and is accessed via a door. This ladder is telescoping and can be put down to assist with entrance and exit from the water. The transom area doubles as a swim platform as well.
When turning to face the boat from the transom, you are met with a nice little lounger area. This area is equipped with a built-in USB charger, cup holders, and a remote to allow you to control the stereo with the touch of a button.
Port side, you can easily flip up the lounger to reveal both the batteries and battery switches, as well as a freshwater spray down.
There is a walkthrough area from the transom to the cockpit of the boat. You can make use of the small door here to block off the cockpit area, if you choose.
Hidden in the floor of the walkthrough is a small storage space with built-in drainage which is an ideal place to keep ropes or any other equipment that may be wet.
Cockpit
The boat is loaded with a ton of storage space, much of which can be found throughout the cockpit area. The largest storage area on board is found right here underneath the seat. Simply lift the cushion up to access it.
The seat in the cockpit area is forward facing; however, you can move the back rests and turn it into a large sun pad area.
You will find that the cockpit area is convertible in several ways which makes it very versatile and comfortable for all.
The back rests for both the companion seat and driver’s seat all adjust to create either forward facing or rear facing seats. Whether you are steering the boat or you want to anchor and join in on the conversation, you can do just that.
Port side in the cockpit area is additional storage and on starboard side there is a built-in cooler for you to keep your drinks and other chilled items.
Recessed cup holders are easily found throughout the sides.
The companion seat is convertible into a rear facing lounge with a moveable back rest. At the companion seat, you will find a lockable glove box and the Fusion stereo system head unit.
Over to the helm side, you will find a large storage area that opens up to reveal a marine head and sink.
Helm
The helm seat is comfortable and includes both an adjustable back rest that slides forwards and backwards and a bolster that flips up to boost you up and improve visibility.
Included at the helm is a single digital dash 9-inch Simrad NSX display. This touchscreen allows you to view your engine data and stats about your boat in real time thanks to the Mercury SmartCraft Connect System. This system also comes preloaded with C-MAP charts.
To the left of the steering wheel, you will find a cup holder, switches, and a cubby to store some of your personal belongings.
Captains can enjoy great visibility with the curved windshield. The area is wrapped with a vinyl to prevent glares and reflections from the sun allowing you to cruise in comfort.
The adjustable steering wheel flips up and down to ensure a comfortable ride at all times.
There is a walkthrough from the helm to the bow and this area is accessed by flipping up a hinged portion of the windshield. The hinged portion does lock into place once open to allow for a nice breeze to flow through. There is a small block off door that can be used as well to keep the helm and bow separated.
Bow
The 2025 Sea Ray SDX 270 offers a very spacious bow area with an extra wide lounge seat on the starboard side. Over on the port side is a long lounge space as well. This area has removable cushions that reveal storage below.
There is a built-in cooler under the seating area in the bow as well. You will find plenty of cup holders, handrails, speakers, and recessed holders for phones and glasses throughout.
At the front of the bow is a compartment that opens up to the bow ladder. This ladder is excellent for allowing you to get on and off the boat at the front instead of having to go all the way to the transom.
