Channel including the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary
and National Park...at 10Z, or 2 AM PST, a 1022 mb surface high was
about 450 NM SW of Point Conception and extending to a 1019 mb ridge
in the California Central Valley. A 1013 mb thermal trough was
located over the Gulf of California and extending to a 1015 mb
inverted trough near Santa Barbara. To the north, a 979 mb surface
trough was located over the Canadian Plains with a frontal boundary
stretching across the offshore waters off the northern California
coast.
