At 2 PM, a broad 1028 mb high was over south central Colorado and
a 1001 low was 500 nautical miles west of San Diego. South to
southeast winds have started to strengthen to levels hazardous to
small craft ahead of the storm moving in from the southwest,
leading to steep seas. Winds will then increase further to gale
force early Wednesday morning. Winds will decrease slightly late
Wednesday, but remain hazardous to small craft through early
Thursday. Another period of elevated southwest winds will follow
late Thursday through early Friday.
