Synopsis for Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm-
1229 AM EST Thu Dec 18 2025

.SYNOPSIS...

A weak trough over the northeast Florida waters will lift northward
as a warm front on Tuesday, moving north of the Georgia waters by
early Thursday afternoon. Scattered showers will develop over our
local waters tonight and Thursday morning, followed by increasing
chances for showers and a few embedded thunderstorms well in advance
of an approaching cold front on Thursday afternoon and evening.
Southeasterly winds will gradually strengthen overnight and Thursday
morning, followed by south-southwesterly winds on Thursday night
that will reach Caution levels near shore and Small Craft Advisory
levels offshore. Winds will then shift to westerly during the
passage of this weakening cold front on Thursday morning, with
northwest and then northerly winds developing following the frontal
passage. High pressure will then settle over our local waters during
the weekend, allowing for winds and seas to diminish. A weakening
frontal boundary will approach our region from the north on Monday
as strong high pressure builds over the Mid-Atlantic states, with
this feature potentially wedging down the southeastern seaboard on
Monday night and Tuesday as another coastal trough develops over our
local waters. This feature may develop showers over our local waters
early next week.
