Cranchi E26 Classic

An Italian dayboat brings international panache to U.S. waters.

Conterporary design from the studio of Christian Grande is imbued with classic touches in the latest — and smallest — offering from Cranchi. A dayboat with weekend capability for a couple, the Cranchi E26 Classic is a snub-nosed, silver-hulled, sport-infused, Volvo-Penta powered, 25-foot, 9-inch beauty.

Teak on the bow, in the cockpit and on the swim platform, and a wraparound windshield give the E26 Classic its old-timey feel, while tinted hull windows, a plumb bow, Volvo power and a Garmin MFD give the E26 its today cred. In fact, an ultra-modern pod-like helm powering what is ostensibly a classic boat creates a visual effect that’s sure to appeal to potential buyers immediately. Its highly trailerable 8-foot, 2-inch beam is another plus.

The E26 Classic is perfectly capable of running to a favorite offshore island or a lunch spot a fair distance down the river, but sun-seeking loungers might prefer it never leave the no-wake zone thanks to a doublewide sunpad that stretches from the aft settee to the swim platform. A companion captain’s chair is situated to port, across from the helm seat, bringing seating capacity to six people when combined with the aft settee. Between the captain’s chairs are teak-covered steps to the forward deck, which is accessed through the center section of windshield, which swings open. Access to the cabin below is forward of the companion seat.

Below is a V-berth, a refrigerator and an electric marine head that can be covered by filler cushions, to turn the entire area into a berth. The cabin doesn’t include a shower, but there is one on the swim platform.

Engine choices from Volvo Penta include a 300 hp D4 diesel and two gas options: a 280 hp V-6 and a 350 hp V-8.
