The Notorious Oyster Pirates of Chesapeake Bay

Roy Thompson, a 20th-century river worker, and his companion, Frank, were met with gunfire when they ventured onto the Chesapeake Bay to collect oysters. The darkness of the night did not protect them from the local oyster police, as bullets rained down on their boat.
