Step 3: Locate the oil drain plug

Step 4: Remove the drain plug

Use a funnel to fill the lower unit with new oil. Make sure you use the recommended type of gear lube for your outboard motor.
Step 8: Replace the oil filter
If your outboard motor has an oil filter, remove the old oil filter and replace it with a new one.
