A Ship Left Charleston in 1838 and Very Bad Things Happened; It was Just Recently Found

180 years ago, the steam packet Pulaski departed from Charleston Harbor and soon encountered a fatal accident off the coast of North Carolina. Its boiler exploded, splitting the vessel in two and causing the death of more than half of its passengers and crew.
