Columbia Falls Students Put the Finishing Touches on Handmade Boat

KALISPELL, Mont. — Since early February, a small group of students from Columbia Falls Junior High School have been working with a volunteer from the Montana Wooden Boat Foundation to build wooden boat of their own.

We caught up with the group today as they were preparing the flat-bottom skiff to receive its first coat of paint.

The Montana Wooden Boat Foundation is working to bring the craft of boat building to local schools. In the past they have helped build boats at Flathed and Somers schools.
