Officers Honored for Evacuating Seniors from Beached Boat

Six law enforcement officers who organized the July 4 evacuation of a tour boat full of senior citizens after it got stuck on St. Augustine Beach were honored Friday by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and St. Augustine Police Department.

St. Augustine Police Corporal Jerry Whitehead and commission officers Mike Millio, Lee Lawshe, Ryan Campbell, Jeff Hickman and Mike Pedonti were honored in the ceremony by commission Major Paul Ouellette and police chief Loran K. Lueders.
