If I release my grip on the throttle on my center console, the lever eases back and the rpms decrease. Is there any way that I, a novice, can stop this from happening?
It’s easy. If you have a side-mounted control box of the same manufacturer as the engine, there will be an adjustment knob or screw at either the front or rear of the box. Consult your owner’s manual for the exact position. Generally, turn the knob clockwise to increase throttle tension. If you have a top-mounted box, pop off the plastic top cover, and there will be a tensioner screw at the rear of the box. Why they don’t put a hole in the cover to access the tensioner is beyond me.
